Question:

When using pre-mixed mortar, should lime be added to the mx?

Answer:

Yes, it helps make it stick. I would steer you away from mortar unless you are doing a historical site.

Good morning,
We did a reconstruction of a 200 year old log structure and used perma chink outside. Inside I'd like to try using the old Lime mortor mix (?) over wire. Any reason not to and do you know the formula to mix what would be original? Thanks, Jim
