Question:

We have a panabode log home. we have strip the log on the exterior. We would like to know what kind of varnish to put on. We want to enhance the richest of the cedar log.

Answer:

We prefer Life Line Stain by Perma Chink. You can get it at Timeless Wood Care products at 800-564-2987. I don't know how you stripped your old finish, but if you used a chemical stripper make sure that you have neutralized it properly before applying a new finish.

We also have a Panabode, we use Superdeck High-Gloss sealer. It's fantastic, we were worried about it being too glossy, but we our test area (and later the whole house) turned out really pretty.

What did you use to strip the Pan Abode? What was on it before?? How old is your house.

We've put in all replacement windows and doors and had to cut out for higher door heights with no problems.

Our's was built in 1970 and is great, but painted on the outside. I think the Pan Abode owners should start a club! Like the Airstream clubs!
