Question:

Our log home is about 15 yrs. old. We are getting ready to re-stain the outside. The log home company told us that to clean the walls we should use a 50/50 mixture of Clorax bleach and water, washing it off with a hose. You recommend not using bleach. What should we use instead.

Answer:

Way to much bleach! Try using 1 cup of bleach and 1 cup of TSP in 4 gallons of warm water. Too much bleach is not good for the wood fiber.
