I have hand sanded about half of a neglected red cedar cabin. The cooked out portions turn pink after enough sanding, but it is tedious work. Would walnut shell or cob blasting work on damaged wood with residual log oil on much of it? If so, is there a place I can rent one in Reno/Lake Tahoe area?

It probably would work, but you would want to sand it after to match. I have no idea where to rent.
