We have alot of little holes made from "carpenter bees" the exterminator says there is no solution...try to plug the holes...but they wont that true?

That is true! You can plug the holes but they will drill new ones. You can kill them off, but their cousins will find the holes and move in. You just have to keep fighting them with a bee powder kit that you can get from Timeless Wood Care Products. Call 800-564-2987. Tennis racket works great too!

is this the only thing that kills the bees?

I have a cabin with almost every problem discussed on this site. For carpenter bees I fill the holes with a wade of tin foil and then liquid nails, then restain. I catch the bees one at a time with a jar (as they are busy working on the holes) and then place a lid of the jar. I caught 18 last summer and no more arrived (so far).
