Question:

have 100 acres with too many beech trees in southern indiana. no commercial value so i thought i might build square cant retirement cabin and use scrap as firewood. cant find much info on using beech. i have woodmizer and wonder if i can build without drying?

Answer:

I'm sure you can use beech, but it normally it isn't very straight to get a good log out of it. Also, the larger ones tend to be hollow in the center and have rot already started. I would not recommend building without drying.
