Question:

I HAVE A LOG HOME THAT HAD A FIRE. ONE WALL BURNT BAD. HOW CAN I RID THE SMOKE SMELL INSIDE ? THANKS MUCH.

Answer:

Chuck:

You need to remove the charred wood by sandingor corn blasting but be careful not to allow the dust to settle on the good wood. It can stain the color. I would then wash the logs with a mixture of 5 gallons warm water, 1 cup of bleach and 1 cup of TSP. You might try calling a water and fire damage company to see if they have a chemical that can help remove the smoke smell.
