Hi.....I am having a home custom built with 2/8 white pine log siding. The siding has a lip on it for interlocking. Should any kind of caulking be used between the siding? What would be the best stain to use that has UV, water & bug protection along with being the best overall sealer?
Thank you

You may want to caulk in between with Energy Seal caulk. I would recommend staining with a good quality latex stain. Nothing from the box stores. If you want low maintenance then go with Sherwin Williams Woodscapes Solid latex stain. Call 800-564-2987 for the caulk and stain options.
