I am using cypress logs for porch posts. I cut them a year ago, hand peeled them. My question is how to cut the bottoms so they will stand up straight. The bottoms are about 14 inches diameter and the tops are about seven inches. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Barry

I would cut them as straight as possible then make sure they are attached properly on the top then shim the bottoms to make sure they are sitting good.
