Question:

I have a log house and I want to tin it cause I cannot keep up with the up keep Is that possible

Answer:

You can, but it is imperative that you repair any rotten logs before you cover them. It could cause a structural issue later if you do not. I would also recommend a vapor barrier wrap under the siding.

Hello:

I have a newer log home that has solid logs on the main level and has log siding on the upper level that includes a large dormer. Getting to the upper dormer is not easy for maintenance. I was thinking about covering the log siding on the upper level with dark brown vertical siding (aluminum siding) with large vertical ridges as spacers on the upper level. Would I be nuts to do this?

I value your opinion.

Thanks!
