We have what looks like brown/yellow installation coming inside between logs on one side of our house. In the summer it felt like putty, damp and able to make impressions when touching. Now that it's winter this is hard, crusty and breaking apart. It looks terrible and we are not sure to take care of this problem.

It sounds like it was wet insulation in the summer. Sounds like you need to have it properly chinked. Call Mike at 866-670-3020 for more information and possible help.
