Question:

Can you paint over chinking? we have a large log home that we were staining and some places stain got slopped over the chinking and my husband wants to paint over it with a white paint but we're not sure if this is possible and if so what is the best brand paint?

Answer:

Yes you can. I would recommend using an exterior latex primer tinted to the color of your chink.

I notice you have recommended the use of a primer to paint chinking several times. Why a primer and not a sealer type paint? Thanks very much
