I live in an old lakefront log cabin community. We are doing an addition to an older log structure. The addition will be conventional framing with half log with chinking - per the historical committee to resemble the old structure. My contractor has wrapped the addition in Tyvec and installed expanded metal sheets over it. Has started to side the home with half logs. So many people have come out of the woodwork with input. Should there be treated lathe between the Tyvec and expanded ste


Not sure what the expanded metal is about. Air space? You really wouldn't need lathe or expanded. I would say you should check with what is recommended for local building codes.
