Question:

We have a NEW log cabin built in 2005, the logs have been chinked but we are still getting water coming in thru the horizontal joints. What can we do to stop this?
thank you
Brad

Answer:

Either the chink was applied too thin and has failed or the windows and doors were not installed properly. Maybe a flashing problem on a chinmney thru the roof?

We live in a cypress log home in Ga. In the spring and summer months we have a problem with carpenter bees. What can we do? We have noticed they are drilling holes in the logs.
