I am looking at purchasing a log cabin in Arizona that was built in 1982. The logs on the west side of the home have turned black possibly due to fungis. What is the preferred method to removing the black discoloration?

Corn cob blasting is the only good method to remove the old finish. It is a dry method and can restore the color of the wood normally. NEVER power wash your logs. It will drive the water so deep into the wood fiber that it will never dry out properly.
