Question:

My log cabin of white cedar from Maine is only 2 years old. It appears something is at ALL the knots in the entire cabin, inside and out. I can push tweezer all the way in and pull out punky wood. Don't see any insect. only polyurethane on inside, sikkens stain outside.........help! freaking out, haven't even paid for this place yet.
Thank-you! oh and some of these 'knot holes' seem perfectly round..........

The logs are from Maine, the cabin is in MA

Answer:

That is typical on larger cedar logs. Shouldn't be a problem. Fill them with a like colored caulk on the interior if you would like. Squeeze some liquid borate in them on the exterior, but no caulking.
