Question:

We are adding an addition to the back of our log home. We had logs that cantalevered out to form an upstairs balcony. Those logs have been cut back and will be inside the new addition attic space. Do those log ends need to be treated with anything? They will not be exposed to the elements since they will be in the new attic?
Thank you

Answer:

Probably not. If they are bare wood you could spray a borate treatment on them just for grin's.
