Question:

I am building a solid cypress log home on a slab. Do I need a Treated seal or can the logs set directly to the slad. I also thought about a sheetmetal pan under the logs and angle down about an inch. Thanks for any information.

Testing I cut a one foot piece of log and set it on the ground where it is in the weather. I has been there 3 1/2 years and does not have any bugs or insects. Maybe this stuff is good.!!!!

Thanks Harlan

Answer:

A treated sill under it would be a good idea. You definitely should treat the logs with a good borate like Shell-Guard. I think the pan idea would catch water a cause trouble.
