Question:

I am building a log home in georgia and one of the wood species offered is Tulip Poplar. what is your opinion on this species? How does it compare to lodgepole pine and western red cedar?

Answer:

Any Cedar is going to be more resistant to rot than any Poplar. Poplar can be good, but it MUST be kept dry. I know what a Tulip Polar is, but have never heard of it in a log home.
