Question:

Have a 20 year old log home. Had the house refinished 8 years ago. Do not know what they used to caulk, but I have water coming into the house during high wind storms that I did not have before. Need to know what needs to be done and if there is a contractor in my area that does that work (Illinois South of Chicago)

Answer:

It sounds like they may have filled all of the checks in the logs or did not fill properly around the doors and windows. Try call Mike at 866-670-3020.

I live in Scotland UK. I wonder if you could advise me. I have purchased a 30 year old cedar log cabin which leaks between the logs when there are high winds and rain. There was old sealant between them which had fallen out in places. I had replaced where it had been but still having problems. I wonder if you advise as to the most appropriate type of caulking to use.

Thank you for your advice.
