I must disagree with use of wood stains and sealers you buy in the store. I use WoodGuard religiously every several years. It uses copper and nickel, not sealers. The Copper 8 is also the same oil that replaced CCA. It's the best I've found. My wife used a stain on the porch and the wood is bleached badly. The stain doesn't seem to block the UV like WG does. I'm hand rubbing this year....I'll let you know how it turns out.
