Question:

I THINKING ABOUT USING Cabot Australian Timber Oil STAIN ON MY LOG CABIN. HAS ANY USED THIS BEFORE AND WHAT WERE THE RESULTS. IT SEEMS NO MATTER WHAT STAIN YOU USE SKINNENS,SASCO OR WHATEVER THEY SAY YOU NEEED TO RE STAIN EVER 5 YEARS SO WHY SPEND THE EXTRA $$$ WHEN IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU MAY GET THE SAME RESULT WITH A LESSER PRICE PRODUCT

Answer:

You are going to have to do something with the Cabot's in 3-5 years also, but when you do the maintenance coat, you will loose the original color because it is going to make it darker with each additional coat. You get what you pay for when it comes to log home stains.
