I recently had a contractor chink my cabin. It was cold and the chinking has already cracked. Should I have him chip it out and replace it or can it be repaired. It cracked within the first month.

Not sure what kind of chink, latex or mortar? If it was latex you should be able to skin coat and repair without having to remove it. I have chinked with latex in some extremely cold weather and never had a problem. He may have also not applied enough product or the logs may be shrinking and pulling on the chink.
