Question:

I have natural logs in a 35 year old
Mountain house in a dry climate (colorado). In last several months we have very heavy dust in house,. Considering oil on logs but unsure? Tired of excessive dust. Suggestions?

Answer:

DO NOT use oil! You will have the dust sticking to the logs and they will be hard to clean. I would recommend a clear latex stain to seal the wood fiber so that you can wipe the logs down with Murphy's Oil Soap. Do not put the Murphy's on bare wood.
