Hi we have a small log cabin .. which we have added to several times.. part timberframe, part regular framing..we want to cover the whole thing in metal roof siding (it will look like a barn).. what do we place (layer) on the log portion under the siding.. do we need to have any air space? etc.



Not sure where you are located. You should find out the local building codes. A vapor barrier and air space with furring strips should work.
