We have a 6 yr old scandanavian log home. The interior has never been cleaned/sealed etc...I had a quote to do glass media but it's not in my budget. I'm thinking to have the interior sandblasted. Is this a good, safe procedure for the log? Baby info would help

Definitely do not use sand! Silica sand dust is very dangerous. Actually I wouldn't bother blasting an interior, but rather sand it. It will have to be sanded after blasting anyway to have a desirable surface to keep clean inside.

You mentioned not to use sand, how about if the sand we use is completely silica free? I realize the sand will give a rougher finish, If I use a good urethane, would it not help wipe off dust etc? It would take forever to hand sand this log being that it's hand scribed scandanavian log. Thankyou for your help
