Question:

I built a 6"x4" cedar log cabin and where the logs butt there is the odd crack. Not all but a few of them mostly because they were not cut perfectly square. Should I route out a groove and caulk it or is there another way to fill them in.

Answer:

Just caulk them with a good amount of Energy Seal.

Have a vertical log cottage that needs caulking. Waterproof, I hope. What type of caulking can I buy from local DIY store. The logs have been painted white. Do I caulk on both sides or just exterior. Live on a lake; very wet and very windy.
