if i treated my cabin with protection then 2 coats extra onslow oil and still its showing weather changes darkening in places can i use another colour say sickens product over the oil. will it go over ok or do i have to stick with oil coats now . many thanks Deby

You need to stick with what you have used, but it probably will not last long again. It sounds like you have been using an plant oil based stain (linseed, safflower, sunflower, etc.). If you want to go to Sikken's I would highly recommend stripping the house back to bare wood by corn cob or glass blasting it first. You should Osborn brush it after blasting prior to staining. Sikken's is a very finicky stain for having the logs prepared properly or it will peel quickly. Call Dave at Timeless Wood Care Products at 800-564-2987 for help with these products.
