Question:

If a log home was stained with Sikkens and then Natureguard gloss and now has some areas faded and peeling what procedure is needed. Shaded areas on the north side and under soffit are very good. Does the whole home need to be blasted and stained. Shouldn't a gloss finish be avoided to prevent this in the future. Thank you.

Answer:

You could Osborne Brush the bad areas and then apply stain to these areas. Be sure to feather it in since you can cause a big blotch on the logs if not done properly.
