Question:
We recently purchased some mill cut cedar logs, only to find out that some of the logs had small rotting spots. Is it possible to treat those spots prior to assembling our home? what is the best treatment for such a problem? (we would like to save the log if possible) and does this treatment prevent the rotting from spreading to the other logs once the house is assembled?
Answer:
You could apply a good heavy coat of Shell Guard, but I would be after the mill to make new ones.
