Question:

Our log cabin is about 5 years old and was constructed with beetle wood. We have 2 minor problems: 1) hornets are building small clay-like nests under our over hang. 2) We can feel drafts in the corner of the walls even though everything appears to be caulked and sealed. Any suggestions for these problems?

Answer:

The hornets are called "mud dobbers". You should call a local exterminator to deal with them.

The exterior must not be caulk properly if you are getting drafts inside. Possibility that it could be coming in thru a roof vent.
