Question:

I have recently built a log be frame with cedar logs. It is starting to crack lenght wise with the logs at every spot that there is a knot. How can I prevent this from getting worse?

Answer:

You really can't unless you have a way to control the climate they are in to slow down the drying process. Sound like they may have been too green when you used them.

Hi We just purchased a home called The original Pan-abode solid western red cedar. We have water stains inside where the logs connect. I would also like to know how to clean the inside logs as the last owners smoked. What to use that is best to get them cleaned. The whole inside of the house is log. I hope you can help me so I can get it looking its best. It is a beautiful home something my husband and I always wanted. Thanks for your time Deb
