We bought a weekend getaway that is log sided, tongue and groove. There are large gaps forming between the wood in several areas and some of the boards are twisted and warped and actually pulling away. In some areas, the foam behind the siding is visible. The problem is that I can't find a way to re-attach the siding, because in some areas, the screw isn't hitting a stud or furring strip through the foam. A repair man wants to re-side the house from scratch, but isn't there a more economical


Hard to say without seeing it, but it should be reparable for the most part. You may have to replace a few pieces of the siding if the will not straighten out.
