Question:


The interior ridge beam and tung and groove ceiling is turning black on south end of log home. There is some moss growing shingles in that area. I see no water leaking in but I see some wood particals have falling from the area telling me maybe powder beetles. Can you tell me the fix for this? Thank Gary

Answer:

The wood particles are probably from carpenter ants. They like wet wood. I would recommend getting a roofer to look at it.
