We just bought an Appalachian Style home, white oak logs, about 10 years old. The chink is in great shape everywhere. The logs have never been sealed/stained and the wood is grey. Our inspector told us to stain/seal the logs. First, should we stain/seal it? Second, if we do, should we pressure wash first? Last, would I have to hand paint every log and try to not get stain on my perfectly nice chink? Thanks!
