Howdy from Jackson Hole! Following bad advice, I screwed slab lumber over old siding & had a pro put on synthetic chinking. Repeated catastrophic chinking failures are caused by moisture migrating up behind it. I’m considering putting round 1” mini louvers with screens in new chinking. Also, putting silicone or chinking goo (which do you recommend?) under the bottom ”log” to limit vapor migrating up. Replacing the slabs is just about impossible. Help! I’m at my wit’s end!
