I would like to re-chink my hand hewn doug fir log cabin with 8 in rounds. Should the perma-chink go over the current mortar chink or do I chip out the mortar, clean/stain the wood, install grip -strip and re-chink. What is the ”right”/best way to proceed for lasting repair/good investment over time? Thanks
