we have an 11 year old Scandiavian scribed 1.5 storey home.
This year I noticed rot in a butt end overhanging the deck and more rot in the bottom log beside the deck.
We do not have rain gutters, should we install them after the logs have been repaired?
The builder, who originally advised us not to add gutters, intends to replace the butt end log, and pour epoxy into the other bottom log.
