I am getting ready to build a new log home. I am going to do all of the work myself. It will be full round logs with swedish cope and saddle notched corners. My question is, on all outside vertical posts on porches, decks and larger vertical support logs, should I seal the ends of these with anything before installing and if so, with what ? Also the porch and deck rails and spindles, should I seal the ends that go into the joints before assembling them ? Once they are in place, there would
