We have been building a log home and noticed the floor in one room feels damp at times. There is a wrap around porch with roof on that side of house, so it couldn’t be coming from there. I’m not talking about the finished flooring but the subfloor. We dont want to lay flooring till we know what is causing this. Could moisture be coming through ceiling in basement? Thank you!
Leaks are hard to pin point. You could still have a leak in that portion of the house even thou there is a covered porch. If it is not flashed properly it could leak. It could be coming in under the bottom log, try chinking shut. It also could be leaking around a window somewhere else on the wall and running down the top of a log before it finds a way into the house. Good Luck!
