10 year old log home. NE GA. white pine interior board walls. on inside about 2 feet and a little to the right above fireplace mantle a black tar like substance oozed about 8 vertical parallel streaks. a little dripped on to mantle. but mostly it is so thick that it maybe dripped along the wall 6-8 inches. could it be a wrap or something that heated up and leaked while using the fireplace?
