Using Cracked Logs for a Four Poster Log Bed

my husband and I are going to make a four poster log bed, so we went to the mountains and pick out some logs, we brought them home and now they are cracking some all across the log but not through it, can we use these logs still or will there be problems if we do? please help, thank you
