I have a small either dry or wet rot spot running about 1/4 inch and about 8 inches long at the bottom of my rounded log. ALl the other logs are in excellent shape. I have no problem with cauging out the small amount of soft wood. But my concern is how do I know when to stop. Concerned about spores or other matter that might continue to be in there and continue to erode or rot out the wood once I close it up. Also, what would you recommend to close up a small area of that size?
