Our log home built 1860, we are trying to restore it. Inside done.Labor of love! As we are doing the outside there are areas especially around the windows where there are loads of cement. Should we try to remove it? The chinking we’ve done on 2 of the outside walls has blistered. Do we need to remove it all? Go over it? Please help! Thanks.

The concrete should be removed as much as possible, as long as it is not between the logsand supporting them. You could end up with settleing if it is and you remove it.
The blistering could be caused by a couple of things. If you put a foam backer in that is not ”closed cell”, the gases from the foam could cause it. Or if you applied it on a very hot day, in the sun, could also cause this at times.
