I have a 2000 sq.ft. log home with cedar on the top parts and lower levels. So far I only have had estimates that include powerwashing. After reading your answers I’m wondering if I should ask for sand or cob blasting. My garage is log sided and is 24 by 24. I’m located in Colorado. Any help would be appreciated. Contractors would also be appreciated. Thank you.
The drier you keep the wood the better. I would recommend the corn blasting since you will end up with a nicer surface to work with and it will not bea blothchy finish like power washed surfaces produce.Power washing siding is not as bad if you let it dry for a couple of weeks. Since it is so thin it will dry out properly if left long enough. Logs are such a mass of woodthe moisturekeeps drawing to the center before it dries.
