Built log home in Midwest from square pine logs purchased from Amish 4 years ago. Serious illness occurred in our family and we no longer had the money to stain or weatherproof the exterior. We also could not get it thoroughly caulked. There seems to be no resulting permanent damage, but exterior logs have unevenly weathered and are now quite unattractive.
