Hi,
we have a log home that is about 20 years old. We have recently found evidence of active infestation (both on inside and outside of home) of deathwatch beetles. The insecticide company is advising fumigation. Is this best for a log home?
Thanks!
I’m not sure what Death Watch Beetles are, but fumigation is not good for most kit style log homes with the gasket between the logs. It will cause the gasket to break down and fail. If these bugs are wood eaters, they digest the wood fiber; you should have the house stripped and apply a good borate treatment.
