We have a 5 year old cedar log home, we stained the outside last year. We have noticed alot of flying bugs going into the knots of our logs outside, and they are digging deep inside the logs. I don’t know what the bugs are but they are leaving log shavings all over my porch. We cannot strip the home and redo the stain, is there anything we can do? I have sprayed inside some of the knots with insect killer. I was also suggested to fill in the knots with clear cauking, but can they eat thru
