I’m plaaning on building a milled square log wall with dovetail corners.My question is ” do I need to leave a chinking/settling gap.If not then I guess cutiing a groove or two in the middle of each timber to fill with some sort of insulation and then a chinking or sealant inside and out? Do I need to cut a grrove in just the bottom timber?
