i am building my cabin from jack pine cut and sawed this summer and it is in the garage drying now–my question is this – the logs are 4” by 8” and i am thinking of putting a 2×4 between the logs for a 1 and 1/2 inch gap–i will have the 2×4 flush on the inside and painted-can i chink the ouside ga1/2 inch space-and do you think this will work ok-
